The reproduction is a limited-edition 250 Giclee prints; a French word (pronounced, gee-klay), meaning "to spray" that produces a very fine spray of color, 2200 dots per inch. Fly fishing and watercolor painting are Tom Sasser's passions. The wilderness is his inspiration. Back-packing throughout the north woods and fly-fishing in his favorite streams has not only brought great pleasure but has filled many sketchbooks. His unique studio, designed to look like a log cabin, is filled with natural and Native American artifacts, his paintings and wood carvings of trout.
Tom's fish prints and paintings are based in reality, subtly colored, beautifully painted and an inspiration for anyone who loves the outdoors.
Tom has been an artist all his life, graduating from The Chicago Academy of Fine Arts and attending the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Tom worked as an art director in advertising eventually becoming creative director
at J. Walter Thompson.
His work has been purchased by collectors from around the world. Currently plans are underway to extend the line of fresh water fish and to paint several salt water species, such as tarpon, permit, redfish and striped bass.
