Description:
Quill Gordon
One of the first large mayflies of the season. This is a classic pattern that should be in every fly fisher's flybox.
The Quill Gordon is one of the first large mayflies of the early season on eastern rivers. The Epeorus pleuralis requires a lengthy drift period on the water’s surface in order to dry its wings or it may seek refuse in streamside vegetation. In incliment weather this drift is prolonged, making them an easy target for trout.
