During the spawning season the male brook trout is a real show off, flaunting his colors hoping to attract the female. Painting this fish gives me an excuse to break out the bold crimson and yellow gold tubes of paint. The museum quality is a limited-edition Giclee print; a French word ( pronounced, gee-klay), meaning " to spray ", that produces a very fine spray of color, 2200 dots per inch. The quality of Giclee prints are extraordinary in definition and color. Giclee prints currently hang in art galleries and museums around the world.
The framed version of this print features a cherry wood finish with gloss black sides. A matte varnish finish over-all compliments any decor. Size of the frame moulding: 2" wide x 7/8" deep. Museum quality ultra-clear plexiglass resists scratching and ensures that your framed print arrives damage-free and ready to hang in your home or office.
The unframed version of this print comes lightly mounted to 1/4" foam-core board and is wrapped in clear acetate for protection. It is shipped perfectly flat and ready for framing.

Fly fishing and watercolor painting are Tom Sasser's passions. The wilderness is his inspiration. Back-packing throughout the north woods and fly-fishing in his favorite streams has not only brought great pleasure but has filled many sketchbooks. His unique studio, designed to look like a log cabin, is filled with natural and Native American artifacts, his paintings and wood carvings of trout.
Tom's fish prints and paintings are based in reality, subtly colored, beautifully painted and an inspiration for anyone who loves the outdoors.
Tom has been an artist all his life, graduating from The Chicago Academy of Fine Arts and attending the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Tom worked as an art director in advertising eventually becoming creative director
at J. Walter Thompson.
His work has been purchased by collectors from around the world. Currently plans are underway to extend the line of fresh water fish and to paint several salt water species, such as tarpon, permit, redfish and striped bass.
