Description: Matuka, Purple There are many variations on the Matuka pattern. This tie combines a full body with an extended rabbit-strip tail and imitates the swimming action of a baitfish when stripped or a leech with a drag-free-drift. If you want to target the larger fish - use a streamer pattern. The Matuka can be fished in lakes or streams with equal effectivness. Using a drag-free-drift the fly rabbit-strip will still create plenty of action in streams. In a similar style drift, try raising your rod tip slightly, pulling the fly from the bottom, then lower the rod tip to allow the pattern to "swim" back down.
