Description:
March Brown Wet Fly
In the early afternoon, when the March Brown hatch will have a bit of a lull, pick up fish easily with this wet fly imitation.
The wet fly imitation can be fished as a traditional wet fly, quartering your cast upstream and permitting a full drift, or it can fished close to the bottom in a similar style to fishing a nymphal imitation of the insect. These two techniques will let you search through the deep holes and also thoroughly work underwater river structure for trout waiting for the duns to begin mating and oviposting. When fishing as a nymph, slightly weight your line and permit the fly to work in the substrate just above the river's bottom. Fish shallow sections of the river as the nymphs tend to work their way towards the banks of the river before emerging.
