Hardy Limited Edition Zane Ti Fly Reel
The new Hardy Zane Ti Fly Reels are produced in a Limited Edition of 100 Titanium Reels only, about 60 of which have already been sold (as of 11/19/2008). They are destined to capture the imagination of Flyfishers around the world. The large arbor design and use of Titanium barstock has been specially engineered to offer incredible strength to weight ratio. The Drag system incorporates a woven Carbon Fiber Disc, which Hardy's developed over 10 years ago, which has superior heat distribution and incredible durability.
The Hardy Zane titanium must be the ultimate saltwater reel on the planet. Crafted from Titanium barstock- six man days of machining are required to form just the cage and spool – during the manufacturing process the incredible strength of Titanium even takes its toll on the machines used to carve it.
Even while immersed totally in water this material loses none of its braking ability allowing you to fight big fish with confidence.
The reels have minimal start up inertia and almost instantaneous pick up. Other features include a large easy to locate drag knob even with cold, wet or perspiring hands. The reel is easy to disassemble allowing the angler to clean and flush after use.
