Description:
Flavilinea Parachute Cripple
When the trout are giving the flies a long hard look, this is the fly to use during the flavilinea hatches. It has a perfect impression on the water and the pattern detail is convincing to even the wariest trout.
Distribution of the flavilinea, and the related species in the Drunella subgenus - the spinifera and coloradensis, extend from western Canada through to New Mexico. Look for this insect species in moderate to fast water sections and in cooler water. There is typically a high incidence of stillborns and cripples among the Drunella family which make them easy prey for trout.
