Description:
Deceiver, Green/Yellow
This pattern has caught over 100 species of saltwater and freshwater fish!
Typically thought of as a saltwater baitfish pattern, this pattern in smaller sizes is very effective in freshwater for bass, trout, pike, walleye and other fish. Not all Deceivers are tied to directly imitate baitfish; they are often tied as attractor patterns. Yellow is a central color theme through many deceiver patterns and is equally effective as an imitative and attractor pattern.
The wings (long feathers) are tied in at the back half of the fly to give the pattern lots of action with subtle strips pulling the fly upwards and allowing it to sink a few inches before the next line strip.
